Update Mobile Number in Aadhaar — Process, Fees & Centers in Mumbai (2026)
Almost every government service today — PAN, GST, passport, DigiLocker — needs a mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP. If your old number is dead, here is exactly how to update it in 2026.
**Can it be done online?** No. Mobile number update in Aadhaar still requires you to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra in person. UIDAI has not enabled online mobile updates as of 2026 because of fraud concerns.
**Fee** ₹50 (cash or UPI at the kendra).
**Documents** Only your physical Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar printout. No additional proof needed for mobile update.
**Process at the kendra** 1. Take a token. 2. Fill the update form with new mobile number. 3. Operator captures biometrics. 4. You get an URN slip — update reflects in 3–7 days.
**Tip** Before going, check your nearest center's wait time on the UIDAI appointment portal. In Govandi, Chembur and Mankhurd, walk-in waits can be 2–4 hours on weekends.
We help residents around Govandi book appointments and pre-fill forms so the visit takes 20 minutes instead of half a day.
